February is Black History Month

In honor of February being Black History month students in Media Center got the privildge of learning about influentual African American Pioneers. They researched their pioneer to found out the influence each had on modern day culture and then they found an inspiring quote from each. Every paper will be placed together to make a class quilt. Some of the people researched were Benjamin Banneker, Bill PIckett, Booker T. Washington, Fredrick Douglas, Edna Lewis, Bessie Coleman, George W. Carver, Harriet Tubman, Jesse Owens, Jackie Robinson, Langston Hughes and many more. The students worked hard and showed extreme compassion for the obstacles and challenges that were conquered by each person.
