We're excited to share an opportunity from the Education Foundation of Putnam County, Inc. to celebrate outstanding students in our community! The Foundation is now accepting nominations for the "Successful Citizen Award." This award recognizes students in grades 6–12 who demonstrate:
No disciplinary referrals
Respect, compassion, empathy, and community engagement
A meaningful “passion project” that positively impacts others
Award: $250 per recipient
Deadline: October 10, 2025

✨ Now Accepting Applications for the 2025–2026 School Year!
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers After-School Program is a free opportunity for PCSD students in PreK–12 to receive academic support and enrichment beyond the school day.
Students will enjoy tutoring, STEAM projects, homework help, recreational activities, afternoon snacks, and more — Monday through Thursday at 8 participating schools.
The program begins August 12, 2025.

As we get ready to welcome students back on August 11th for the 2025–2026 school year, we encourage all families to prioritize student health and safety now.
Please ensure your child’s required vaccinations and physical examinations are up to date before the first day of school. Vaccinations can be completed through your child’s healthcare provider or the Putnam County Health Department. If your student will need prescription medication or treatments during school hours, please provide a current, signed physician order. Over-the-counter medications require a signed parent consent form. For detailed health requirements and resources, visit our district Health Services page:

KSES 6th Grade Parents-
The district has partnered with the Putnam County Health Department to offer the Tdap vaccine (required for 7th grade entry) to your child during school hours on May 12. Please complete and return the consent form your student brought home by Friday, May 9th if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity. The date to return the forms has been extended!
If you prefer to obtain the vaccine elsewhere, the school must receive an updated immunization certificate by August 10th or on this day he/she will be temporarily excluded from school and extracurricular activities.
