Mrs. Brandi Wilkinson planned a fun day of learning about kindness in the Media Center today. Third grade students listened to the story The Invisible Boy. In the story the illustrator drew the main character (Brian) in shades of grey to represent how he felt invisible at the beginning of the book. Later in the story, when he began to make friends and feel included, the illustrator used color illustrations to show how his feelings changed. After the story, students colored an Avitar that represented themselves. Once all Avitars were colored, students passed them around and added kind words about each classmate to their paper. Brefore leaving class students were given a Skittle treat to add color to their day.
